Discovering Lake Guichard, perched at over 2000 meters altitude in Maurienne. Capturing the reflections of surrounding peaks on its crystalline waters, alpine wildlife and the changing lights of the high mountains. A project dedicated to the wild beauty of the French Alps.
From Chambéry, head towards Maurienne valley, exit at Saint-Étienne-de-Cuines, then follow the road to Col du Glandon up to Col de la Croix de Fer. Park at the pass (2067m). Distance: 2 km round trip, elevation gain: 50m, duration: 1h. Very easy family hike.

Panoramic view from the western shore at sunset, with the Aiguilles d'Arves reflecting in the lake. Ideal position to capture the first golden lights on the peaks. Easy access from the main trail.

Best period: June to October. The hike is very short (20 min walk) with flat terrain. Perfect for a first mountain bivouac above the lake. Favor golden hours to capture reflections of the Aiguilles d'Arves in the lake water.
