Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Haute-Savoie
A photographic adventure in the heart of Chamonix glaciers, where the Mer de Glace meets the Leschaux glacier.
Exploring the Jonction of Chamonix, a spectacular glacial site where two ice giants meet. Immortalizing imposing seracs, deep crevasses, and light plays on millennial ice. This project captures the raw power and ephemeral beauty of the glacial world in a context of climate change.
From Chamonix, take the Montenvers train to the Mer de Glace (20 min). Descend via the metal staircase onto the glacier (430 steps). Follow the marked trail on the Mer de Glace towards the Jonction. Distance: 3 km round trip on glacier, elevation: 200m, duration: 3-4h. Glacier hike requiring crampons and poles.
