Ponta de São Lourenço: The eastern tip of the island offers a unique lunar landscape with its red and ochre volcanic rocks plunging into the Atlantic. 7km hike with spectacular viewpoints at every turn. Dawn is particularly magical here with raking light that enhances the relief.
Laurisilva Forest: UNESCO-listed primeval forest, accessible via the Levada das 25 Fontes. Mysterious mist, waterfalls and lush vegetation create a fairy-tale atmosphere, perfect for atmospheric compositions.
Cabo Girão: One of the highest sea cliffs in Europe (580m). The suspended glass platform offers a vertiginous framing of the ocean and agricultural terraces (fajãs) below.
Porto Moniz: Natural volcanic pools carved into black lava, with waves breaking creating spectacular sprays. Late afternoon light recommended.
