Aix-les-Bains: Pearl of Lake Bourget

Esplanade du Lac: A 3 km promenade along Lake Bourget, this esplanade offers unobstructed views of the water and surrounding mountains. At sunrise, perfect reflections in the calm water create spectacular symmetrical compositions. Pontoons and docks offer interesting foregrounds to structure your images. In late afternoon, golden light enhances the Belle Époque facades lining the lake.

Hautecombe Abbey: A Cistercian jewel from the 12th century on the lake's west shore, accessible by boat from Aix-les-Bains. This royal abbey, necropolis of the House of Savoy, stands majestically facing the waters. Photograph it from the lake to capture its reflection, or from the heights for a spectacular bird's-eye view. The neo-Gothic interior with sumptuous frescoes is also worth the visit.

Mont Revard: Accessible by car or the Revard funicular (the oldest in France still operating), this 1550m summit offers a breathtaking 360° panorama. Stunning view of Lake Bourget in its entire length, the Chartreuse, Jura and Mont-Blanc massifs on clear days. At sunrise, morning mist over the lake creates a mystical atmosphere with mountains emerging from clouds. In winter, the contrast between the blue lake and snow-covered peaks is striking.

Port and thermal center: Preserved Belle Époque architecture with the Grand Port (1900) featuring Art Nouveau facades, the Grand Cercle Casino and national thermal baths. Curved lines, ironwork and architectural details offer architectural photography opportunities. The small marina with its boats and sailboats creates colorful compositions, particularly in the evening.

Aix-les-Bains beach: Large beach with lawns and swimming areas. In summer, the lake's turquoise waters contrast with the mountains in the background. Ideal for summer compositions with bathers in silhouette or for minimalist views off-season when the beach is deserted.
